Fabrication and properties of SiC whisker/aluminum alloy composites

本研究的目的是开发一种新型晶须/铝合金复合材料。采用粉末冶金法制备了碳化硅晶须/铝合金(A6061)复合材料。研究了复合材料的力学性能和磨损性能。混炼方法和挤出工艺对晶须在复合材料中的损伤和分散有影响。2.当碳化硅晶须的加入量达到5%时，复合材料的拉伸强度有所提高。3.碳化硅晶须的加入使复合材料的耐磨性提高了3倍。

The purpose of this research was to develope a new whisker/aluminum alloy compounds. Silicon carbide (SIC) whisker/aluminum alloy (A6061) composites were prepaired by powder metallurgy (P/M). The mecanical properties and wear properties of the composites were investigated.1. The damage and dispersion of whisker in the composites were affected by the mixing method and the extrusion process. 2. The tensile strength of composites increased with adding sic whisker up to 5%. 3. The wear resistance of composites were improved three times of aluminum alloy by adding SiC whisker.
