Construction of a Support System for Regional Home Dental Care using Computer Network

自1989年以来，新泻县政府和新泻牙科协会(NDA)一直在为去牙科诊所有困难的居家老年人开展探访牙科护理项目。为了更有效和更安全地进行探访牙科护理，我们尝试与该项目合作，构建一个利用计算机网络的支持系统。该系统包括一个居家老年人的医疗数据库，并为有医疗并发症的患者的牙科治疗提供专家支持。我们医院已经安装了一台安全防护的数据库服务器和一台拨号服务器，10名牙医可以通过患者家中的笔记本电脑和多巴适配器访问数据库服务器。DOPA网络不足以在患者家中实际使用数据库，因此我们开发了离线数据库系统，使其能够访问医生办公室的数据库。在访问牙科护理时，仅包含牙科数据的数据库用处有限，因此集成了所有医疗数据(医疗、牙科和护理...)是必要的。此外，我们的研究项目还需要改进目前计算机和网络应用于来访牙科护理中的技术问题。我们的研究项目现在将扩展为NDA的家庭牙科护理支持信息网络(NDAN)。

Niigata Prefectural Government and Niigata Dental Association (NDA) have been doing a project of visiting dental care for the elderly at home who have difficulties in going to the dental office since 1989. To do more efficient and safer visiting dental care, construction of a support system using computer networks has been attempted, in cooperation with this project.The system consists of a medical database of the elderly at home and providing support of specialists for the dental treatment of the patient who have medical complications. A database server protected with security and a dial-up server have been installed in our hospital, and 10 dentists can access the database server through notebook computers and DoPa adapter at the patient's home. DoPa network were insufficient to use database practically at patient's home, so we developed offline database system which enable to access database at doctor's office. In visiting dental care, the database containing only dental data has limited usefulness, so integration of all medical data (medical, dental and nursing...) is necessary. In addition, it remains to improve current technical problems in the application of computers and networks to the visiting dental care.Our research project is now going to extend as NDA's "Home Dental Care Supporting Information Network"(NDAN).
