A Study in Russian Regional Economy

我选择了俄罗斯传统的心脏地带来考察市场化进程中地区的变化。这就是所谓的黑土地区。该地区距离莫斯科约300-500公里。总的来说，这个地区与俄罗斯有一些相似的特征。沃罗内什州也有制造业和农业。利佩茨克州有一家著名的钢铁公司，其产品出口到国外（他们有外汇收入）。别尔哥罗德地区和利佩茨克一样。库尔斯克和坦波夫是典型的非制造业地区。他们的主要产品是农产品。这些产业特征对这五个地区的影响是不同的。在市场化进程中，由于俄罗斯卢布的高汇率，包括食品在内的进口消费品占据了俄罗斯市场，制造企业不仅失去了中东欧和中亚地区的产品市场，而且无法应对进口商品的竞争。我可以发现，根据自然资源禀赋的条件和其他经济条件，包括各个地区的各种工业发展水平，市场化进程对区域经济的影响是不同的。我写了一篇题为“俄罗斯经济的现状与前景”的文章，在文章中我提到了俄罗斯的区域特征。

I selected the traditional heartland of Russia to investigate the change of the regions in the process of marketization. It is so called the black earth region. This region is about 300-500 km away from Moscow. And this region has somewhat similar features with Russia in general. Voronesh oblast has manufacturing industries and agreculture as well. Lipetsk oblast has a well-known steel company and exports its production abroad (they have foreign currency earning). Belgorod region is just the same as Lipetsk. Kursk and Tambov are typical non-manufacturing industries area. Their main production are agricultural products.Such industrial features had different influences on those five regions. In the marketization process owing to high exchange rate of Russian cunrency Ruble, imported consumer goods including food produsts prevailed on the Russian markets and manufacturing companies not only lost the markets of their products in the earstem- central europe and middle asia but they could not cope with the competition by imported goods.I could find that the process of marketization had different influences upon the regional economies according the conditions of endowments of natural resourcec and other economic condiotions including the levels of various industrial development of each region I wrote an article with the title of "The Present and the Prospect of Russian Economy" and in the article I refered to the regional features of Russia.
