Studies on a Cooperative Ubiquitous Multilingual E-learning Environment

在这个研究项目中，我们利用先进的信息技术及其环境来进行语言教育。最初，我们计划开发原型无处不在的电子学习环境。然而，由于研究的进展，我们转而以大学日语中心开发的教材为基础，开发可操作的真实世界语言电子学习系统。我们还扩展了内容。结果，我们开发了1692个html页面、20500个声音文件和2454个图像文件。此外，我们还将日语原版资料翻译成汉语、韩语、泰语、越南语、蒙古语等语言，让学生用自己的母语学习日语。我们还开发了独创的网络环境下语言教学管理系统，包括语言实验室功能。基于我们原有的LMS，我们可以详细记录学习者的活动。我们希望开发量身定制的语言教育环境。我们合作的泛在日语电子学习环境，称为JPLANG，从2005年4月开始作为我们大学日语中心的一部分使用。

In this research project, we make use of advanced IT and its environment to language education.Originally, we planed to develop prototype ubiquitous e-learning environment. However, due to the progress of the study, we changed to develop operational real world language e-learning system based on the teaching materials developed by Japanese Language Center of the university. We also extend the contents.As a result, we developed 1692 html pages, 20500 sound files, and 2454 image files.Further, we translated original Japanese materials into languages, such as Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Mongolian so as to learn Japanese language by their own native language.We also developed original Learning Management System for language education including Language Laboratory feature in the Internet environment. Based on our original LMS, we can record detailed learner's activities. We hope to develop tailored language education environment.Our cooperative ubiquitous Japanese language e-learning environment, called JPLANG, started to use as a part of our university's Japanese Language Center from April, 2005.
