RESEARCH ON MULTI-ITEM AUCTIONS

Miyake教授(首席研究员)研究了多物品拍卖理论所基于的局部均衡分析的适用性，并在假设物品是正常商品的情况下，推导了局部均衡分析适用于多物品拍卖市场的代理人特征(效用函数和初始收入)的充要条件。这一结果在一篇将发表在国际期刊《数学社会科学》上的论文中进行了总结。通过这一结果，我们可以应用消费者剩余度量来评估一些可供选择的拍卖规则，如英国、荷兰或日本的拍卖规则，并且我们可以很容易地计算出多物品拍卖的均衡。

Prof.Miyake (the head investigator) studies the applicability of the partial equilibrium analysis on which the multi-item auction theory is based, and he derives the necessary and sufficient conditions on the agents' characteristics (utility functions and initial incomes) under which the partial-equilibrium analysis is applicable for the multi-item auction market, assuming that the items are normal goods. This result is summarized in a paper which will be published in an international journal : Mathematical Social Sciences. By this result, we can apply the consumer surplus measure to evaluate some alternative auction rules such as English, Dutch or Japanese auction rules and we can easily compute the equilibria of multi-item auctions.Prof.Serizawa (the investigator) studies the axiomatic characterization of multi-item auctions with Prof.Cew Soo Hong.
