Biomonitoring of water contamination based on analysis of the action potential of killifish

本研究基于鱼类呼吸损伤是毒物暴露应激的良好指标这一事实，对呼吸肌动作电位产生的电场进行了测量和分析。为了准确检测电场，采用了钛合金电极。使用的毒物是氰化钾和杀虫剂速灭磷。急性和亚致死性毒性反应表现为呼吸活动增加。动作电位功率谱的时间特性表明，千里鱼能在1小时内检测到氰化物浓度为0.1 mg/L，苏硫磷浓度为1 mg/L。

In this study, based on the fact that respiratory impairment in fish serves as a good indicator of toxicant exposure stress, the electric field resulting from respiratory muscle action potentials were measured and analyzed. In order to detect the electric field accurately, titanium alloy electrodes were used. The toxicant used were potassium cyanide and insecticide Sumithion (fenitrothion) . Acute and sublethal toxic effect was indicated by increased breathing activity. The time characteristic of the power spectrum of the action potential showed that killifish is able to detect a cyanide concentration of 0.1mg/L and a Sumithion of 1mg/L in an hour.
