Multidisciplinary study on petit-spot : Clarification about revelation of heterogeneity in the Pacific upper mantle and magma genesis

对新型火山“小点”玄武岩进行了矿物学和地球化学调查。调查表明，广泛分布在太平洋上的上地幔的小规模不均匀性是由大陆板块物质的循环引起的，这些物质的变化比预期的要大。进一步证实了小斑岩浆活动是太平洋地区的一种普遍现象。岩浆地球化学变化表明各小火山从岩浆形成到喷发的源物质不同或过程孤立。

Mineralogical and geochemical investigations for basalts from new type volcanoes "petit-spot" were conducted. Investigations clarify that a small-scale heterogeneity of upper mantle, wide-spreading across the Pacific Ocean, was caused by the recycled continental plate materials, that are variable more than expected. Furthermore, it was confirmed that the petit-spot magmatism is a common phenomenon within the Pacific Ocean. Geochemical variations of magma indicate that different source materials and/or isolated process leading from magma genesis to eruption for each small volcano.
