Qualitative study of Medical Communication about Informed Consent to Cancer patients

患者与医护人员之间的沟通存在诸多障碍。本研究的重点是癌症患者在开始化疗时的知情同意。调查化疗的解释和患者对知情同意的态度可能会为如何更好地提供化疗信息提供有用的建议。我们希望将这些结果用于了解患者的感受，并为医疗保健专业人员建立沟通培训计划。本研究的结果表明，即使医疗保健专业人员提供了相同的解释，个体特征，如对治疗的认识或理解，也可能影响后续的治疗活动。因此，对于医疗保健专业人员来说，重视病人的个性是很重要的。

There are many barrier existed on the communication between patient and healthcare professionals. This study was focused on the informed consent to cancer patient when they started the chemotherapy. An investigation into explanations of chemotherapy and patients' attitude to informed consent was likely to offer useful suggestions on how to better provide information on chemotherapy. We wanted to contribute these results to an understanding of patient's feeling and building the program of communication training for healthcare professionals. The result of this study suggested that even if the healthcare professional provided the same explanation, individual characteristics such as awareness or understanding of the treatment might affect subsequent treatment activities. So it was important for healthcare professionals to think great deal of patient's individuality.
