Detailed study of "phase" behavior of polymer aqueous solutions induced by hydrophobic interactions

聚合物水溶液的相行为并不像通常认为的那样简单。聚n -异丙基丙烯酰胺（PNIPA）溶液中的云点不仅受PNIPA与周围水分子之间的氢键的影响，还受PNIPA链的端基和一级结构的影响。结果表明，对于PNIPA水溶液，云点曲线与双峰曲线不直接对应。

Phase behavior of polymer aqueous solutions was found not to be so simple as usually considered. The cloud point in aqueous poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPA) solutions is shown to be governed not only by the hydrogen bonds between PNIPA and surrounding water molecules but also by the end group and primarystructure of PNIPA chains. It is concluded that the cloud-point curve does not directly correspond to the bimodal as far as aqueous PNIPA solutions are concerned.
