Comparative study of transportation policy of Japan and Korea on the relationships between changes of transportation cost, industrial cluster and physical distribution in East Japan region

本文分析了运输成本变化、产业集群和物流分布之间的关系，并将运输网络全球化和技术网络全球化定义为综合运输成本。(1)利用人口普查数据，揭示了离境地区产业集聚规模对金属机械和化学工业国内物流量的影响。相反，研究表明，到达地区的产业集聚规模对国内轻工物流配送量有影响。此外，运输成本或运输时间作为运输阻力的变量比包含地理特征影响的运输距离（称为道路的实际延伸）具有更强的解释力。ii)通过对日本和韩国产业集群中ICT相关企业的调查数据，我们发现与海外地区相连的技术网络和基于地理邻近的技术网络有助于企业的连续性。

This study analyzed the relationships between changes of transportation cost, industrial cluster and physical distribution with defining not only globalization of transportation networks but also globalization of technological networks as comprehensive transportation cost. i) Using census data, we revealed that the scale of departing region’s industrial agglomeration have affected on the volume of domestic physical distribution of metal machine and chemical industry. On the contrary, it was shown that the scale of arriving region’s industrial agglomeration have affected on the volume of domestic physical distribution of light manufacturing. Moreover, it was shown that transportation cost or transit time have much explanation power as a variable of transportation resistance than the haul distance that included the influence of geographical feature (it is called real extension of a road). ii) And, using survey dataconducted to the ICT related firms located in industry clusters in Japan and Korea, we revealed technological networks connecting to the oversea regions and based on geographical proximity contributed firm’s continuity.
