Estrogens in male breast carcinoma

为了探讨雌激素在男性乳腺癌中的作用，我们对男性乳腺癌组织中雌激素浓度、雌激素受体及其反应基因进行了检测，发现男性乳腺癌组织中雌二醇水平明显升高，雌激素产生酶在男性乳腺癌组织中明显表达。本研究中所检查的所有病例均为雌激素受体（ER）阳性，并且检测到ER与孕激素受体之间的显著相关性。基因芯片分析显示雌激素反应基因在男性和女性乳腺癌组织中的表达谱存在明显差异，提示雌激素在男性乳腺癌组织中的表达与女性乳腺癌组织中的表达相似，但雌激素在男性和女性乳腺癌组织中的作用存在明显差异。

We examined intratumoral estrogen concentrayion, estrogen receptor and its responsive genes in male breast carcinomas in order to clarify estrogen action in male breast carcinomas.Tissue estradiol level was markedly higher in male breast carcinoma tissues, and estrogen producing enzymes were significantly detected in male breast carcinoma tissues. All cases examined in this study were positive for estrogen receptor (ER), and significant association was detected between ER and progesterone receptor. Microarray analysis did demonstrate that expression profiles of estrogen responsive genes are markedly different between male and female breast carcinomas.Therfefore, it was suggested that estrogens were loccally produced in male breast carcinoma tissues as well as female ones, while its action was quite different between male and female breast carcinomas.
