In this project infrared and other multi-wavelength information is used to determine the properties of the direct environment of Massive Young Stellar Objects that are hidden from view at optical wavelengths. In particular, interferometric and diffraction limited data from ESO's VLT and VLT-I telescopes are combined and analysed using radiative transfer modelling. These properties of the sample will be used to test different massive star formation evolution models and their effect on the molecular environment. Overall this project will provide a significant step forward in our understanding of the massive star formation process.
