This studentship provides an exciting opportunity to join a team of biomedical scientists and bioengineers using organ-chip technology to investigate primary cilia and test new therapies. The project will test the hypothesis that pharmaceutical elongation of primary cilia in kidney epithelial cells enhances essential mechanotransduction. The student will examine whether this can compensate for the genetic disruption of cilia that causes Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).
