This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The primary objective of this trial is to compare the incidence of grade 3/4 mucositis in patients receiving amifostine (Ethyol) while undergoing HYPERRADPLAT to that of the incidence of grade 3/4 mucositis previously reported in patients who received a single injection of IA cisplatin in UK studies.
