Automating the location and manipulation of user concepts in code

ACL creates a SaaS (Software as a Service) platform enabling organizations to monitor and evaluate theirGovernance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) using a data-driven approach. The users of thissoftware are often auditors charged with determining precise paths of activity in an organization. In thissoftware domain, being able to track user actions in the ACL software in terms of concepts appropriate forauditors is key to supporting the governance a user expects. This tracking requires mapping specific codeexecution patterns in the software to the domain concepts. This project will investigate if existing approachesin the research literature to concept location and concept modularization are appropriate to abstract softwareexecution to the concept reporting needed by ACL. By considering the first steps towards the automaticidentification of the concept of interest in the source code, this project aims to significantly reduce the cost ofadding this governance support to ACL systems.
