Regenerative Medicine strategies hold great promise to overcome diseases. Professor Molly Shoichets laboratory is advancing enabling technologies to bring this promise to fruition in areas of spinal cord injury, stroke, blindness and cancer. By designing innovative polymers for applications in medicine, Shoichet brings multidisciplinary fields together, thereby advancing knowledge to practical application. She has achieved numerous firsts: local and sustained delivery to the brain; enhanced cell survival after transplantation in hydrogels; 3D biopatterning technology for use in personalized medicine. This combination of blended expertise is unique to Shoichets team and critical to the design of tomorrows technologies for advanced health.
