Deep Cryogenics Int. uses a cold thermal process called Deep Cryogenic Treatment (DCT) in order to improve wear, corrosion, fatigue and fracture on a variety of metals. Since 1999, we have been exploring this science to understand how and why it works and where it is most effective. The use of this low cost, cold thermal process reduces metal wear and corrosion by 20-70% and will significantly lower greenhouse gas emission and reduce diesel use amongst other advantages. The process has not yet been fully adopted due to the need for thorough independent testing. In order to increase adoption, methods to validate treatment without destructive testing are required. The challenge in this project is to provide a scientific and repeatable correlation between the destructive testing and the XRD results as there is no precedent for this type of correlation. These tests and results will support industrial adoption through a non-destructive testing map.
