Bright light treatment (BLT) is an efficacious therapeutic modality for seasonal and non-seasonal depression but the mechanisms through which it exerts its clinical effects are not well understood [1],[2]. Neurocognitive investigations suggest that antidepressant drugs acutely impact on ‘hot’(ie emotion-related) cognition, pushing the brain to prioritise positive relative to negative input when processing affective information [3]. Whether BLT could have similar effects has not been investigated to date.Study objective:
