We study special flows associated to Hitchin representations of a surface group, namely the simple root flows. We introduce and discuss the Liouvlle geodesic current which plays a singular role amongst all the natural invariant currents associated to such a representation. Finally, we discuss a rigidity result and a pressure metric associated to the first simple root flow.
