We study topologically monotone surjective-maps of finite distortion, whereare domains in,. If the outer distortion functionwith, then any such mapfis known to be homeomorphic, and hence the fibersare singletons. We show that as the exponent of integrabilitypof the distortion functionincreases in the range, then for increasingly manydepending onp, thek:th rational homology groupof any reasonably tame fiberoffis equal to that of a point. In particular, ifthen this is true for all. We also formulate a Sobolev realization of a topological example by Bing of a monotonewith homologically non-trivial fibers. This example hasfor all, which shows that our result is sharp in the case.
