We present simulations of potential landscapes for electrons in random and correlated distributions of repulsive scatterers, which enable the determination of percolation thresholds, densities of states and oscillator strengths. These simulations elucidate experimental results of transport measurements in the quantum Hall regime and cyclotron resonance spectroscopy on intentionally disordered two-dimensional electron systems in GaAs/GaAlAs heterostructures with an additional δ-doping layer of negatively charged beryllium acceptors.
