Mobile media have expanded and diffused the workplace from office to co-working space, home and urban spaces. This change means that a place-based workstyle like office work has transformed into style-based workplaces like co-working spaces. In addition to this, workers in style-based workplaces are seeking to build communities of style to share their work and lifestyle. From the viewpoints of style-based workplaces and community of style, the chapter explores the reconfiguration of workplaces, examining phenomena such as working in co-working spaces and workationing (working while on vacation), based on fieldwork in Shibuya (urban area) and Shirahama (rural area), Japan. Findings show that the ways in which workplaces are reconfigured are localisation by deofficisation in urban areas and delocalisation by officisation in rural areas (resort areas).
