Evaluation of Thermal Movements in Existing Bridges

由于一些桥梁伸缩缝已经锁定到位，从而在结构中产生未知的内应力，桥梁的热运动成为设计和施工中的一个重要考虑因素。本项目将研究桥梁结构的整体热运动，除了桥梁系统的连续性和几何形状外，还将考虑轴承和伸缩缝系统的放置、刚度、约束和摩擦阻力等因素。研究结果将对桥梁工程界有很大的帮助。

Thermal movements of bridges is becoming an important design and construction consideration because some bridge expansion joints have been locked into place thus causing unknown internal stresses in the structure. This project will investigate the overall thermal movement of a bridge structure taking into account such factors as; placement, stiffness, restraint, and frictional resistance of the bearing and expansion joint systems, in addition to the continuity and geometry of the bridge system. The results will be very useful to the bridge engineering community.
