Design Aids for Handicapped Students

该计划的目的是：1)为残疾儿童和成人提供更好的教育体验和更自给自足的能力。2)为设计、建造和实施帮助有需要的人的设备的工科学生提供最好的培训；这种“真实世界”的体验肯定会产生巨大的动力，培养一种具有独特使命感和自豪感的工程教育。3)为工程学校提供机会，为社会提供独特的服务。4)为生物工程学术界提供在大学内建设基础设施的机会。

The purpose of this program is to: 1) provide disabled children and adults with an improved educational experience and a more self- sufficient capability. 2) provide superlative training for the engineering student who designs, builds and implements a device to help a person in need; this "real world" experience will certainly generate great motivation and foster an engineering education with a unique sense of purpose and pride. 3) provide the engineering school with an opportunity to perform a unique service to the community. 4) provide the bioengineering academic community an opportunity to build infrastructure within the university.
