This proposal request funds to obtain a scanning electron microscope for the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, IL. Fourteen investigators from the museum staff describe twenty three projects covering a wide range of systematics and morphology of both extant and extinct plant and animal species. All of the projects require at least some use of SEM.
