Equipment and Facilities for Research at the University of Guam Marine Laboratory

关岛大学海洋实验室是美国四个热带海洋实验室之一，也是太平洋热带海洋地区唯一的这类实验室。它位于美国海洋实验室中最多样化的生物地理区域。实验室拥有7名专任教师，以及众多的研究生和客座研究员。随着Enewetak的中太平洋研究实验室的关闭，关岛海洋实验室增加了新的教员，并与夏威夷大学、琉球大学和其他机构建立了新的合作项目，对现有设施支持多学科和合作研究项目的需求有所增加。该项目将提供资金，用于更换该设施的海水系统和改善设施，使残疾人能够进入该设施。设施的改进将使实验室能够更好地支持现有的和正在开发的研究项目。

The University of Guam Marine Laboratory is one of four U.S. tropical marine laboratories and is the only such facility in the tropical oceanic Pacific. It is located in the most diverse biogeographic region of any U.S. marine laboratory. The Laboratory supports the research of 7 full-time faculty, as well as numerous graduate students and visiting investigators. With the closing of the Mid-Pacific Research Laboratory at Enewetak, the addition of new faculty at the Guam Marine Laboratory and the establishment of new collaborative programs with the University of Hawaii, the University of the Ryukyus, and other institutions, the demands on the existing facility for support of multidisciplinary and collaborative research programs have increased. This project will provide funds for replacement of the facility's seawater system and improvements to allow access to the facility by the handicapped. The enhancements of the facility will enable the Laboratory to better support both existing and developing research programs.
