This is a Minority Research Initiation (MRI) Planning Grant proposal. The proposed research is in the field of computer science. In this study Tougaloo College will create a model Center for Computer Science and Applied Technologies. The center will train all students at the college in the use and application of informational technologies. The planning grant will allow the PI release time to chair a committee who will work with her in developing the center. During the planning period, the PI will gather and process information from consultants. The PI will network government and industry to gain support for the project. The PI will travel to NSF to talk with officials.
