U.S.-China Cooperative Research: Transient Electromagnetic Research

这是由美国犹他大学的Gerald W. Hohmann博士和中南科技大学的何继山教授进行的为期两年的合作研究项目。本研究旨在提高瞬变电磁技术（TEM）的分辨率和探测能力。Hohmann博士开发了一种最先进的计算机程序来解释电导率数据，但没有现场数据来验证该模型。他在中南科技大学（CSUT）的中国合作者已经在中国开展了多年的电磁场研究，并计划使用新购买的多用途电磁接收器进行现场测量。这是一项由美国国家科学基金会和中国国家教委共同支持的合作研究。这项研究将极大地造福中美两国的科学家。

This is a two-year collaborative research project between Dr. Gerald W. Hohmann, University of Utah and Professor He Jishan, Central South University of Technology. This study plans to improve the resolution and exploration of transient electro-magnetic techniques (TEM). Dr. Hohmann has developed a state of the art of computer program for interpreting electrical conductivity data but has no field data to verify the model. His Chinese collaborator at the Central South University of Technology (CSUT) has been carrying out electromagnetic field studies in China for several years and plans to conduct field measurements using the newly purchased multi-purpose electromagnetic receiver. This is a collabora- tive study jointly supported by the NSF and the Chinese State Education Commission. The study will greatly benefit both U.S. and Chinese scientists.
