Research Initiation Award: Robust Stabilization of Time Delay Systems

本课题的主要研究目标是开发具有不确定参数和时滞的线性系统鲁棒稳定性测试和鲁棒稳定控制器设计的计算方法。这是当今控制理论中主要的开放问题之一，因为反馈回路中时间延迟的存在严重影响了控制系统的鲁棒性。以下特定的对象是重点：1)表征那些类别的时滞系统的Kharitonov型结果成立。2)推导了具有不确定参数空间多面体结构的时滞系统鲁棒稳定性检验的有效计算工具。3)时滞系统鲁棒镇定理论的发展及其对鲁棒控制器设计的一般方法的可能启示。

The main research goal of this project is to develop computational methods for testing robust stability and designing robust stabilizing controllers for linear systems with uncertain parameters and time delays. This is one of the main open problems in control theory today since the presence of time delays in the feedback loop affects heavily the robustness of a control system. The following particular objects are in focus: 1) Characterization of those classes of time delay systems for which the Kharitonov type results hold. 2) Derivation of efficient computational tools for testing robust stability of delay systems with the polytope structure in space of uncertain parameters. 3) Development of the theory of robust stabilization of delay systems with possible implications for the general methodology of robust controller design.
