The Influence of Preparation Procedure on the Structure and Optical Properties of Calcium Aluminate Glasses

研究了用非常规方法制备的铝酸钙玻璃和玻璃薄膜的结构和性能。铝酸钙玻璃的结构特征随着钙离子浓度的变化而发生变化，因而具有重要的科学意义。因此，我们建议研究用溶胶凝胶法和溅射法制备宽组成范围的铝酸钙玻璃的可行性，并评估这些材料在不同工艺步骤下的行为和性能。由于铝酸钙具有中红外透明性，作为低损耗光纤材料具有重要的技术潜力。

An investigation of the structure and properties of calcium aluminate glasses and glass films prepared by unconventional methods is proposed. Calcium aluminate glasses are of scientific interest because of the changes of their structural characteristics as a function of calcium concentration. Therefore, it is proposed to study the feasibility of preparing a wide compositional range of calcium aluminate glasses by sol-gel and sputtering processes and to asses the behavior and properties of these materials as a function of various processing steps. Due to their mid-infrared transparency calcium aluminates have an important technological potential as low loss optical fiber materials.
