Infrared Studies of Molecular Ions, Spectroscopy and Dynamics

研究分子离子的光谱学(1)是为了获得基本物质的量子力学信息，特别是分子内动力学信息；(2)是为了给天文学家提供空间搜索所需的实验室光谱；(3)是为了研究实验室等离子体的化学和物理。目前的目标包括：扩展H3+的光谱测量；在土星和天王星上寻找H3+，在木星上寻找其他离子光谱；对碳离子（CH5+、CH4+、CH3+等）进行光谱分析；研究C2、H3+和CH5中的质子隧穿；在分子体系中发展双共振离子光谱。

The spectroscopy of molecular ions is studied (1) to obtain quantum mechanical information on the fundamental species, in particular on their intramolecular dynamics, (2) to provide astronomers with laboratory spectra for their searches in space, and (3) to study chemistry and physics of laboratory plasmas. Current objectives include: extending spectroscopic measurements on H3+; searching for H3+ in Saturn and Uranus, and for other ionic spectra in Jupiter; carrying out spectroscopy and analysis of carbo-ions (CH5+, CH4+, CH3+ etc); studying proton tunneling in C2 H3+ and CH5; and developing double resonance ion spectroscopy in molecular systems.
