9528852 Von Damm This action provides continuing support for the RIDGE coordinating office. The responsibilities of the office include the development and implementation of the RIDGE science plan, organizing planning meetings and workshops, holding conferences, producing and distributing a semi-annual newsletter, facilitating timely responses to major earthquake or volcanic events on the mid-ocean ridge, implementing RIDGE-oriented data management and archiving systems, and pursuing international collaborative efforts on a bilateral and multilateral level. Effectively 1 June 1995 Jeff Fox will assume the chari of the RIDGE steering committee and the RIDGE office will formally move to the Graduate School of Oceanography/University of Rhode Island from Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. ***
