This workshop will help to communicate to the research community current planning within the government regarding the program component area as well as ellicit valuable input from the research community regarding promising research directions in the area. This is a new research focus area for computer science, both with the Foundation and across the Committee on Computer, Information and Communications member agencies; therefore, the input will be valuable in helping to steer planning across the government. A report will be created and made available in print and on the web following the workshop.
