This award is made under the high performance connections portion of ANIR's "Connections to the Internet" announcement, NSF 98-102. It provides partial support for two years for a OC-3 connection to the vBNS. Applications include data analysis, data storage, device control and monitoring, digital libraries, teleconferencing; distance learning and remote experimentation. Collaborating institutions include the Department of Energy's Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab), Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility (CEBAF), Baptist Health Systems of South Florida, NASA, and the Air Force Research Lab.
