The interaction of ultra-intense lasers with matter is explored using numerical simulation. The project focuses on the dynamics of intense laser-atom interactions in the relativistic regime, the negative energy continuum of the Dirac equation, the production of electron-positron pairs and pulse propagation in dielectric media.
