The project C1 is devoted to the numerical simulation of drop impact onto hot surfaces. The drop impact at a macroscale is simulated using a solver within the OpenFOAM package, in which the two-phase flow is described using the Volume-of-Fluid (VOF) method accounting for evaporation at the liquid-vapor interface. The detailed model for the description of evaporation in the vicinity of the three-phase contact line is coupled with the VOF-model using correlations. In the third funding period, the interaction of several impacting drops will be simulated in a wide range of parameters.
