0514841BatesThis award to Bermuda Biological Station for Research provides support for the acquisition of oceanographic instrumentation to be used on R/V Weatherbird II, as well as its anticipated replacement vessel, both operated as part of the University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System (UNOLS) fleet. Specifically, support is recommended to acquire a CTD (conductivity-temperature-depth) rosette plus 24 Niskin sampling bottles, two dissolved oxygen sensors, a laboratory-grade water system, and two transmissometers. These shared-use instrument acquisitions improve the capabilities of the research vessel, and are expected to be used by most researchers using the BBSR vessels in their research during 2005 and future years.***
