RET Site: Teachers in the University Learning Engineering Research

This award provides funding for a 3 year standard award to support a Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) Site program at the University of Oklahoma entitled, "Teachers in the University Learning Engineering Research," under the direction of Dr. Hazem H. Refai. The goals of this program are to develop a successful model for: 1) engaging sixteen high school science and mathematics teachers in engineering research at the university level for six weeks during the summer; 2) assisting teachers with integrating their research experiences into authentic, inquiry-based curricula and using action research to evaluate their progress; and 3) building a sustainable network of teachers and faculty who will faciltliate these goals.
