This award provides NSF support to sponsor travel expenses for graduate students and junior faculty members to attend the 27th IEEE Real-Time Systems Symposium (RTSS), December 5-8, 2006 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. RTSS is sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Real-Time Systems and provides a forum for presenting the latest advances in real-time systems research. The RTSS converence has recently started to engender discussions and promote the area of embedded systems. For example, a special track on embedded systems has become a permanent feature of RTSS. A special purpose of RTSS 2006 is to foster discussion and technology exchange in the real-time computing and communication communities between the South and North Americas.
