SREB-NSF Postdoctoral Professional Development Program

This award action funds an opportunity for NSF Minority Postdoctoral Fellows and their faculty mentors to build their professional development skills by attending the annual Institute for Teaching and Mentoring, sponsored by the Compact for Faculty Diversity and the Southern Regional Education Board. In three previous years this opportunity was provided through the New England Board of Higher Education. Attendance at the Institute provides a variety of educational activities, e.g., workshops, small group discussions, and mentoring opportunities, as well as opportunities to give research presentations and network with other participants with similar interests. The focus of the Institute is to broaden participation of under represented minorities in all fields of science at all educational and professional levels, from high school through senior faculty. The Institute will be held in Arlington, VA on October 25-28, 2007.
