Almost all projects of the CRC work with transgenic mouse models to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of Ca2+ signaling in the organism. Many of these genetically-modified mouse lines are unique and exist only in our facility. The platform project P02 will continue to 1) cryopreserve transgenic mouse strains within the CRC to protect the animals from contamination, loss due to genetic drift or accidents, 2) generate Cre-dependent reporter mouse strains and to 3) generate conditional alleles.
