Funding is requested for the coordination of the priority program 1236. It is planned toorganize one general assembly each year (three in total), and, in addition, to have four smallerworkshops, one each for the `multi-anvil network¿, the `diamond anvil cell network¿ the`mineral physics network¿ and the `novel materials network¿. To specifically promoteyounger researchers, funding is requested for two workshops for Ph.D. and post docs only. Anumber of workshops relating to topics of relevance to the SPP have been planned byparticipants and partial financial support for these is requested. Funding is also requested for a1/3 BAT Vc position to organize the workshop, to organize the use of and access to theplanned central laser heating facility, to set-up and maintain the web site, and to administerthe funding requested here.
