The aim of the project is to establish an open access e-journal in Ancient History and adjacentClassical Studies with the thematic focus on the issues, application and establishment ofmethods of Digital Humanties within the framework of the Open Journal Systems (OJS). Theplan is a rhythm of two volumes a year. Editorial of the editors, data transparency, RSS feed andlinks to the social media should provide a range of advanced communication. Contributions canbe submitted in German, English, French and Italian and will be examined by double peerreview.New ways of data processing and analysis, of visualization and text quality as well as questionsof source criticism with regard to digital editions, or sources already created in a digital formatenable new ways of historical analysis. The significantly increased internationality of historicalresearch working independently from its geographical location has led to new forms ofprofessional communication. Classics scholars are also increasingly dependent on open-sourceand quality secondary literature or source materials as well as web-based platforms for commonresearch and publications.Considering this background, the eAQUA Working Papers are directed towards scientists andearly-stage researchers dealing with multimedia information and discourses, often driven bylarge amounts of data from different types. The journal welcomes contributions from all areasdealing with, reflecting on or applying methods, which help answer research questions relatedwith digital practices in Ancient History and its neighboring disciplines (e.g. data formats, description standards, web technologies, databases, programming languages andvisualizations), but also evaluate the opportunities and limitations of virtual researchenvironments and new ways of teaching of classical studies in the digital age.
