Promotion of young scientists is an essential goal of CRC1116. To support the professional development of our doctoral researchers and doctoral researchers in medicine, the integrated Research Training Group (iRTG) will provide a structured training program besides the experimental work. A modular curriculum aims to address state of the art cardiovascular biology including structural, functional, metabolic, and immunological processes. In seminars, lectures, and practical courses we will guide our doctoral researchers towards an integrative view on cardiovascular function and dysfunction as well as to translational aspects. The science related training program will be complemented by classes in transferable skills which will be organized by the iRTG in collaboration with iGRAD and medRSD, graduate schools of the science and medical faculties.
