英文摘要
If solutes are placed in an anisotropic environment - as in this case a liquid crystal or polymer gel ¿ they are oriented with respect to the magnetic field. This makes anisotropic nmr parameters, such as the dipolar coupling, directly observable. The liquid crystal can thus be understood as a special and complex kind of confinement. To describe the orientation of compounds in orienting media models are used, which frequently only contain steric or electrostatic potentials without taking the structure of the anisotropic medium in atomic detail into account. Hydrogen bonds (H-bonds) also have not been taken into account so far. The aim of this project is to obtain information on the interaction of dissolved compounds in liquid crystalline media. Thus we want to investigate liquid crystals with different degrees of intramolecular stabilization via H-bonds. The emphasis shall we laid on the importance of H-bonds for stability and aggregation behavior of the liquid crystal as well as on their influence on the orientational properties of the dissolved compound. Thus solutes shall be used which can either form H-bonds or cannot form H-bonds. Thus we aim at a better understanding on the importance of H-bonds in the orientational process in order to obtain better models for liquid crystal solute interactinos.
