项目摘要

通年を通じて、日本学士院、東京大学総合図書館において和算史料の調査を行い、また東北大学附属図書館等においてデジタル公開されている和算史料の調査、分析を行った。さらに久留米市立中央図書館において、久留米藩藩政史料の調査、分析を行った。以上の史料調査と分析に基づき、有馬頼ユキ(1714-1783)と同時代の暦算家の関係について、RIMS「数学史の研究」、洋学史学会若手部会、洋学史学会で報告した。これらの報告では有馬の師である山路主住(1704-1773)に加え、久留米藩士であった入江修敬(1699-1773)、藤田貞資(1734-1807)といった和算家が、有馬とどのように情報交換していたのかを分析した。この分析の過程で、これまで未発見であった入江の著作に言及し、彼が江戸幕府旗本と関係を有していたことを明らかにした。それと共に久留米藩の暦算家・稲次正礼(1730-1798)の存在を見出すことができた。出版物としては、2021年度に調査し学会報告した「点竄」の内容について、論文にまとめた。『科学史研究』に投稿した「和算における「点竄」の由来と成立について」（2023年1月刊行）では、数学用語「点竄」がどのように成立し普及するに至ったのかを明らかにした。『洋学』に投稿した「和算における「点竄」の普及と解釈について」（掲載決定済、2023年4月刊行）では、「点竄」がどのように解釈されたのかを明らかにした。加えて2022年5月の科学史学会で報告した内容をまとめ、『哲学・科学史論叢』に論文として投稿した。本論文「有馬頼ユキによる弓形の研究とその情報源について」（2023年2月刊行）では、有馬がどのように弓形の求長（三角関数の級数展開）を研究したのかを分析し、その情報源について検討した。
