本研究では、江戸時代の茶道および香道で用いられる茶入れや香包をいれる袋に施された結びに関する史料に着目し、日本において結びが一種の記号として用いられてきたことを明らかにした上で、結びに関する知識が家元制度や出版文化の発展と関わりながら行われたことを示した。西尾市岩瀬文庫、野村美術館、静嘉堂文庫美術館、竹幽文庫、正倉院等の所蔵品を元にその分析を試みた。さらに史料分析の軸として、(1)花結びがどのように享受され、結びに関する視覚的記録が残るに至ったか、(2)結びで作られた形かが記号としてどのよ うな意味をもち、記号にまつわる言説がどのように構築されたか、を設定した。その結果、第一に、室町時代の史料に唐物への敬意を表すために結びが用いられてきたこと解釈できることを示した上で、同実践および唐物を礼賛する文化が江戸にも見られることを明らかにした。第二に、江戸時代中期の茶道における結びの伝承に着目し、結びの内容をみだりに他者に伝授してはならないことが記されており、結び図が家元制度のもとでの秘儀であった事情を指摘した。第三に、結びに関する記録に着目すれば、これまでのところ、江戸前期までは手書きの図絵や写本しか史料が見当たらず、限られた人のみが結びの知識に触れていたが、江戸後期において木版出版が広がり、結びに関する出版物も出回り、結びに関する知識の享受層が広がったことも指摘した。本年度においては史料調査を研究の要に据えたが、学芸員の方や結び文化の継承者の田中年子氏との意見交換も含め、実践的な側面から研究を進めることもできた。研究成果の発表については、ICAS12(The 12th International Convention of Asia Scholars)、ACDHT(アジアデザイン史論国際会議)に於いて研究成果を発表し、充実した意見交換を行った。

This study shows that the tea ceremony in the Edo period is a symbol of the development of the family culture. Nishio City Iwase Library, Nomura Art Museum, Seikado Library Art Museum, Takeyuki Library, Shokura-in, etc. The axis of historical data analysis is: (1) the flower knot is not happy, the knot is not related to the visual record,(2) the knot is not formed, the symbol is not meaningful, the symbol is not constructed, and the setting is not. As a result, the first time, the historical materials of the Muromachi era are used to express respect for Tang objects. This is why the culture of practicing and praising Tang objects can be seen in Edo. Second, in the middle of the Edo period, the tea ceremony and the contents of the ceremony were divided into two parts: the first part was the ceremony and the second part was the ceremony and the third part was the ceremony. The third is to record the contents of the book, and the third is to record the contents of the book. This year's survey of historical materials is important for the exchange of views between scholars and cultural leaders. The presentation of research results was conducted at ICAS12(The 12th International Convention of Asia Scholars) and ACDHT(International Conference on History).
