项目摘要

本年度は以下２つの作業を行なった。第一に、道徳と日常性との関係に関する昨年度の理論的研究の成果を精緻化し、道徳をめぐる経験がいかにして社会のあり方を批判する契機となり得るのかを理論的に明らかにした。また、この成果を２本の論文として発表した（2023年５月20日時点で既発表１本、掲載決定１本）。第二に、理論的研究から得た視角を手がかりに、昨年度末から調査を続けてきた「初期社会科」に関する先行研究および一次資料を収集し、読解した。戦後日本初期の道徳教育は学校教育全体で行なわれていたが、その中心を担っていたのが社会科であった。当時の教育では、知識を系統立てて教え込む「系統主義」の考え方ではなく、児童・生徒が生活のなかで直面する問題から出発し、それを解決する経験によって学ぶ「経験主義」の考え方が採用されており、初期社会科の「道徳教育」は、徳目を教え込むことではなく、道徳をめぐる経験を通じて社会批判へと向かう態度を育てることを目指していた。しかし、その構想は、戦後初期の不安定な社会情勢を背景に方々から批判され、1958年の「道徳の時間」特設によって、事実上頓挫した。初期社会科をめぐる論争、とりわけ社会認識に関わる教育と「道徳教育」とを統合して行なおうとする理念とそれに対する批判は、現代の「特別の教科　道徳」へと至る日本道徳教育およびその論争の歴史を方向づけており、戦後日本における道徳をめぐる社会意識の変遷を捉えるうえで、また、宗教教育から出発したドイツの道徳教育との相違点を比較社会学的な観点から捉えるうえで、重要なトピックである。以上の観点から、道徳教育をめぐって初期社会科が提示した理念がいかなるものであったか、そしてその理念はいかにして批判されたのかを明らかにする目的のもと、初期社会科の構想や教育実践に関する一次文献、およびそれらを批判するために書かれた一次文献を収集・整理した。
