项目摘要

2022年度は、本研究の出発点となる自著『『エセー』読解入門ーモンテーニュと西洋の精神史』（講談社学術文庫、2022年6月9日刊）の内容をさらに展開してゆくための最初の契機として、「「経験」と「概念」のはざまで」と題する提題を行ない（東京大学哲学会大会ワークショップ「自由と主体の系譜学ー古代哲学と近世哲学の間で」、2022年10月29日）、共同提題者ならびにフロアとのやりとりを通して、多くの示唆を得た。その中でも、本研究の遂行にあたって特に重要なのが以下の三点である。第一に、中世哲学および近世哲学における「良心」と「意識」の関係を探るに際しても、当時まだ明示的に概念化されてはいなかった経験的自我と超越論的自我の関係が問題となること。この点は、本研究を近代からさらに現代哲学へと接続するさいのいわば橋頭堡となるだろう。第二に、モンテーニュの思索を「反ー哲学」と位置付けた上記提題が、哲学という営みの本質と限界そのものに再考を促しうるものであったこと。言い換えれば、「哲学者とは誰なのか」という根本的な問いに改めて取り組むことの正当性を認識できたこと。第三に、これら二点と連動して、「経験」という概念を、いわゆる（「合理論」と対をなす）「経験論」の枠組みから解放して考え直す必要性を確認できたこと。現時点では、以上の三点に関わる論文等を具体的に執筆し、公表する段階にまでは至っていないが、三点とも、本研究をより拡大深化させながら進めてゆくうえで支えとなる認識であり、そのような認識を得たということが2022年度の大きな成果であった。
