项目摘要

了誉聖冏（1341-1420）は、浄土宗鎮西流白旗派の学僧だったが、仮託文献を多用して教学を形成していた。聖冏は、作者を祖師たちに擬した仮託文献を多用して自らの正統を示した。さらに聖冏の中心的な教義「二蔵義」は菩提流支仮託『麒麟聖財立宗論』に依拠するなど、教学形成においても仮託文献から思想的な影響を強く受けていた。江戸時代になると、鎮西流が浄土宗の主流派となったころから宗学の根幹となり、浄土宗の僧侶育成プログラムである檀林教育において重要視された。だが仮託文献を多用する学問スタイルは、その偽の要素が徐々に批判の対象となり、明治時代は宗の根幹から外されることになった。本研究は、聖冏が依拠した仮託文献を偽書・偽経として等閑視するのではなく、聖冏教学を構成する重要な要素として位置付け、その思想的特色を解明し、最終的に中世浄土教学における仮託文献の位置付けを明らかにすることを目的とする。具体的な研究内容は、①浄土宗における仮託文献の調査・解読、②聖冏浄土教学への仮託文献の影響と教理上の意義の解明、③聖冏の直弟子・酉誉聖聡の仮託文献受容との比較検討の3つである。上記のうち、令和4年度は①を中心に進め、聖冏教学における重要典籍『麒麟聖財立宗論』の読解研究を行った。また聖冏の祖師としての伝記形成過程や、浄土宗における夢の位置付けについて検討を行うなど、浄土宗の正統意識の形成について論じた。以上の検討から、聖冏教学の多面性と、それを取り巻く言説・学問世界の一端について明らかにすることができた。
